Peace Through Yoga Comes to AYS Children!
To promote a healthier mind, body and spirit, AYS is featuring a unique class throughout the month of May and during Camp AYS. As AYS students at Fox Hill Elementary in Washington Township prepare for the end of the school year, many will experience challenging assignments and tests adding stress to these last few weeks. AYS Has Gone to the Dogs!
AYS at Spring Mill Elementary in Washington Township celebrated their four-legged friends with the theme "Our Pets" from April 26 through May 7. In addition to pet-oriented crafts, science, math and language arts activities, the program site made dog treats and collected items for the Humane Society of Indianapolis. Full article

AYS Receives Several Grants to Help Working Families Provide Safe, Enriching Opportunities for Their Children
The Indiana Department of Education awarded AYS a 21st Century Community Learning Center grant. This grant will support a program serving the Metropolitan School District of Decatur Township's Blue and Gold Academies. Full article

From a Lemonade Stand to the Board Room-
AYS children Run Their Own One-Day Business
Several children from AYS before- and after-school program at IPS #70 participated in Lemonade Day Indianapolis. The program's lemonade stand, located at 52nd Street and the Monon Trail on Sunday, May 2, earned $61.65. Despite the gloomy weather, they had fun while getting their first taste at running a business. Full article
